We are limited in that one of us (senior citizen) has immunity issues and can't get out much in public. So this year there will be just two of us at home for Thanksgiving. Sure we will have a special dinner and probably watch the Thanksgiving Day parade. But I'm curious if you have any special Thanksgiving Day traditions to keep your family entertained at home that would honor and recognize the meaning of Thanksgiving. We don't have any Indians to invite over. I've tried. Again because of the immunity problem, no company will be here (which bums me out, but what can I do?). Maybe read the story of the first Thanksgiving? I'm stumped. Most people bail and go to the movies but we can't do that either. Any ideas you have or traditions you might share would be appreciated. Thank you!

We watch Miracle on 34th Street.
Maybe you can start addressing your Christmas Cards or write your Christmas letter
Put up some Christmas decorations on the inside of the house.
Make your Christmas list
Eat cold turkey sandwiches
Thank God that you are both alive to enjoy the day together.

Its always fun to make crafts out of any thing you have around the house. I save colored plastic bottle covers and am planning on making a checkerboard out of what ever I can find and having about four different colors for the checkers for people to choose from. Its going to take a little tweaking on how to change to Kings, but I'll figure something out. Just use your imagination and have fun ! : )

you can may anything you enjoy a tradition; we have game time; we play catch phrase at the dining table; it gets heated and we enjoy it so, that is has now become a tradition; when the dessert is done; the games are on ; sometimes just some great conversation of memories and times past ; some quiet time to bond ; it is what memories are made of ; whatever you decide , something that you both enjoy!!

Actually write down 3 things (each) you are thankful for, on separate papers. Read them throughout the day or dinner. Sounds corny, but thats what thanksgiving is about.

Besides watching the beautiful Thanksgiving Day Parades, my family watch annoying NFL football, while I watch sexy Spider-Man movies. Oddly enough, my entire family watches the sexy Spider-Man movies, because they think that Tobey Maguire and I would make a nice couple, despite the fact that Tobey Maguire has a daughter, who is such a cute, little Tiger, by another woman, with whom he recently married.
