I have chronic bronchitis as I have been smoking since I was 11 yo. My hacking up is so notorious in our area people know when I am going to call before I get there. I am now 35 and in danger of losing my teeth if I do not stop. At the minute I smoke an ounce of tobacco a day and tried stopping but it is difficult. So, yes, I have honestly smoked a cigarette.

A homeless person is not weird because they pick up a cigarette butt. I have seen teenagers pick up the butts to get a few "drags" out of the cig. No one should ever be considered weird because of that! I would maybe offer that person a cigarette or two if they needed one and anything else I could afford to give them. Sometimes it is not there fault they are homeless. I look at it in the perspective, how would I want to be treated if the role was reversed and I was the homeless person!

I started smoking at 13 and I have quit for up to 9 months at a time....but I have had this awful habit for 27 years.....and each day I do not smoke is a battle of will power. Do not start up again ever.....
Peace.

I tried it when I was about sixteen, due to peer pressure, but realised my friends were smoking more of my cigarettes than me! I didn't like it, thought it was a waste of money and packed in after a week!
I'm REALLY anti-smoking and have been for a long time, but lost a close relative due to a smoking related illness. It wasn't cancer, but was just as distressing because she had to have her leg amputated due to blocked arteries.
So anyone reading this that says smoking hasn't harmed them (exactly what my relative used to say) beware......

In my office with my colleagues who smoked, I have smoked hardly once or twice a month. I have not smoked for the past 12 years, since I have left that company.

Why would anyone lie about it?
Of course I've smoked at least once before. There is absolutely no one on Earth older than 20 who hasn't once touched a cigarette.

I smoked a lot of them before there was any talk about the possibility that cigarettes might cause cancer. I quit many years ago.

Yeah, I'm a smoker since I was 15 years old and now I'm 28.
It's difficult for me to quit since every time I try something bad happens and I think of it as the only solution...
