Did you prove them wrong?

Question

Has anyone achieved anything that people doubted you could do?

Did you start a lucrative business that no-one believed would get off the ground? Did you exceed all expectations at school by getting high grades? What kind of things did people say to you? Please share.

I fell pregnant at 15 and had my daughter at 16 and was the talk of the town. But I proved all those people wrong who said I wouldnt cope. My daughter is now 32 and is a wonderful human being as is my son and other daughter. I wouldnt turn back the clock-I have a loving well adjusted family.

Returned to college and was on the President's or Dean;s list all but one semester (Started back for computer sciences and FIRST class I was in was Database management.. yeah, and I didn't even know what the mouse did)

Also had a fire in my house... the AC in the window was on fire (entire front melted), ripped out of the frame by the firemen with the pole they use, then picked up and thrown by another fireman to get it out of the way... It was new and a very good unit and since I didn;'t have insurance I didn't throw it away immediately... One too many people said I could not possibly fix it... well, I carried it in the house one weekend, started in on it around 10pm and at 6am everything worked perfectly again... made a new front for it the next day and it has been working for the past 8 years... still icey cold air.

my classmates laughed at me when i asked them to play chess against me,,

but i defeated them all,,
now i m the best chess player in my whole class,,
i have even defeated computer in chess infront of them,,

now they say "dude, u're playing chess against kedar(my name),,its almost impossible to win"
