'The Internet is providing loners with something they never have had in the past, a demented peer group that they can be part of without actually having to hang around with them'.

Taken from a 'Mirror forum' link I read on a YA! question this morning.
It sounds about right after reading what some people post on here on a daily basis!

Please don't all jump down my throat and get defensive, I obviously do not mean everyone, just the saddo's who post ridiculous question after question, not naming names but you all know who they are.

That's pretty funny and scarily plausible!

Demented peer group.......is this now the title to be attached to all that do not agree with others views. YA is a site for debate and discussion on many issues not just current events. The computer age has made it possible for people to interact instantly with each other, in fact it is just a faster and more efficient form of the pen pall system.

Do we know who actually said this "quote"? I have an opinion on the McCanns and that is whether they killed Maddie or not (which I don't know and am not qualified to comment on), they - and their friends - are neglectful for leaving children alone in an apartment where they could have had a nightmare, choked on their own vomit, etc. etc.

If that makes me a demented loner I would question the morals and intelligence of the person who said that. I'm a responsible and loving mother who has never - and would never - leave my daughter alone like that. Whether or not this person judges me as a loner and with demented peers - I couldn't really care less to be honest. (Oh, and a thumbs down for having an opinion, eh? Well, that says it all, really).

I think like all others if be a loner or not I went on Holiday last year with with my kids 1st time away and I never let them out my sight

even my 15 year old and 13 year old..

and I was like a hawk when it came to my son 3 and would never thought to leave them alone they went every were with me and when they wanted to go to bed I went with them.

so yes they are wrong for leaving the baby's and this is there guilt to carry with them for the rest of there lives.

I think like a lot WHY LEAVE THEM ARE YOU STUPID!!!!

but as I said there guilt will be there even if they get her back which I hope they do but not for them but for that little girl bless her

I don't understand the world we live in and cant forgive parents who put there children in dangerous situations then cry for help when something goes wrong like in this case

I just hope she is save and well looked after if someone has her but I do hope she returns to her so called family

I think that it's wrong. I only use this site at work to relieve the boredom of my job. I guess a vast amount of the others on here are the same. It is a very judgemental comment without actually bothering with any research into it. I thought that was what all the pro McCanns were interested in 'facts not speculation'. Why start with speculation now? You will destroy the platform which you are trying to hold together with points like this.

The internet gives opportunity for all people who can use it to offer their point of view on a range of issues.
I am not demented or a loner so the quote is just an opinion of somebody.

I really don't care. What I DO care about is all the other missing, exploited, and murdered children around the world who don't receive a fraction of the attention that Madeleine McCann has been receiving.

is it not legitamate to ask questions

i dont know what went on so i have not pointed fingers at anyone - if the mccanns are totally innocent - which they very well may be - then they have been victims of a terrible smear campaign

but, there are many aspects to this case that make me feel uncomfortable - namely the positive spin campaign orchestrated by the Mccanns team and carried out by the largely unquestioning british media which are displaying a frankly xenophobic attitude towards any foreign force that dares to accuse a middle class coupke of Brits

after all, they are official suspects - we are given the impression that there is a good reason for this - although we are not given specifics - for example reports of DNA in cars, and then an 'independent' team (yeah right - they were hired by the mccanns team) say there is no DNA evidence full stop

so what do we beleive?? the police or the team that were paid to acheive a specific objective and to ignore objectivity?? i dont know - but i do know that we should NOT stop asking questions

Disagree - its just another medium by which I interact with people. I can speak to real people about the same stuff and have a broader perspective having put the issue out as a question. YA is not for loosers but for those who seek a broader understanding of what Jo Public thinks outside their friendship group.

Ummmmm.......so only sad loners think children should be properly looked after then ? Had Hispanic girlfriend once, she would never have left her kids alone. In countries like Spain they take the kids to the bar or restaurant with them. In this freak show of a country dogs are more welcome in some eating places than children. Why are the British so keen to get away from their children ?

Anti McCann ? Not really... I am pro British !!!

Daily Mirror reader ? I read almost all newspapers available including Portuguese ones too -- this way I have a broader more objective view of things.

Hate the McCanns ? Nope... I am a father ! I have young children.

Finally, if youi are able to post your question here then you must be part of the "demented peer group" you are referring to, LOLOLOL
