Im 23 years and in dec 2006 i was diagnozed with PCOS.I march i started to take bc pills -mercilon.My Dr said, bcp will probably get my period on right place but i still dont get my peridos as i should..so far, this year i had 3 proper periods and 2 very very light ones ( like 7hours long)..every month i ask myself whether my noperiod is a cause of PCOS, pregnancy or mercilon.... When i asked my Dr for a scan i was told, that there is no need as i got PCOS..... is that right? is there a risk of pregnancy??

To find out for sure if someone has PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) a series of tests including blood to check testosterone levels (yes, women also make a small amount of testosterone but when the levels go higher we can have problems with our weight and have problems with hairloss and acne as some other examples). After those tests are done to rule out other things then they can look at the testosterone levels. If they are high then a doctor can diagnose PCOS.

The irregular periods could still be related to the pill but I would recommend getting another opinion and preferably from an endocrinologist (a doctor that diagnoses and treats diseases that relate to hormones such as PCOS) to see what they say.
