I am staying in a rental house from last 37 Years, and from last 6 months house owner is avoiding giving me the rent receipts? (I am paying him monthly rent without fail) are there any consequences I may face?
According to new (Indian) law, house owner can not ask tenant to leave the place unless tenant is paying the monthly rent on time or even if tenant has not paid the monthly rent for a longer period, and if tenant is ready to pay the balance due amount, the house owner has to accept that.
Please suggest what should I do
Thanks in advance..!

Keep a record for yourself which shows how much you paid and the date you made the payment and to whom the payment was made. You also can insist that the owner give you a receipt for your records. The law might not require it, but common courtesy and normal business practice do.

you may consider shifting house. maybe he wants to deny that you did not pay for the last 6 months as you do not have rent receipts. In time to come, he can use this "evident" to chase you out of the house. I guess he wants the house back for other purposes but dont want to tell you straight to your face.

maximum rentals have 30 days notice, whether some are in basic terms 2 weeks. for this reason, even whether this is in basic terms 2 weeks you will supply 30 days, so in case you uncertain grant the 30 days. you will possibly be able to desire to continually supply dated notice in WRITING so there is not any dispute. in basic terms a pair of lines pointing out your purpose to terminate the hire on your meant date. a common hire now is composed of a bond plus lease beforehand, whether not all fall into this class, and the quantities of the bonds and lease beforehand selection. As you state you paid the final months lease beforehand on the commencing up of the tenancy, which means it could have been a minimum of in part bond monies, returnable after inspection on departure. whether, many landlords, in the event that they are beneficial you have not broken the valuables will assist you to apply this money in lieu of the previous couple of weeks lease. if it is the case, mutual contract is maximum suitable so which you do not reason later credit issues on the subject of a reference. ***** If it grew to become into not a bond, in basic terms lease beforehand, then you are somewhat legal in utilising this lease beforehand for the best weeks. Your 30 day notice is all you will possibly be able to desire to grant. some human beings, the place they have paid a 'bond', will use this by using fact the best few weeks lease (each each now and then by using fact they comprehend their bond isn't likely to be back to them by using wreck or a grasping landlord), and if there is harm the owner will then take restoration steps during the courtroom. different proprietors heavily isn't bothered.
