Say absolutely nothing, and preserve your dignity! There is an old adage "a wise man never argues with a fool".

Do not lower yourself, please!

U sound like a very confident person, don't let that other people compare u to anyone, U are unique and there is no other like u.

U know what people whom compare u to others are usually inadequate and insecure of them selves. I would suggest ignoring those kind of comments. They not worth a pinch of salt.

They must probably what to make u feel as useless as they do, don't fall for that. Those people that earn more or are qualified more, have people that also earn more and are qualified more than them.

So u just continue with ur Confident self and ignore those kinds of comments. If they get u try to think of something that makes u laugh or smile, concentrate on that.

Sample remark: Bob and you are the same age, but he just got promoted to Vice President.

Sample Answer: Yeah, Bob's done really well in his career and I know that's very important to him. We each have our strong points.

The idea is not to push back; acknowlege the person that you are being compared to does well. The best way to shrug these off is to not be defensive and not give them any ammo to follow up with. The most they can do with your answer above is ask you what your strong points are (which is not what they had in mind).

i know what that feels like. i usually say that every person is a unique, irrepetable individuality & should be respected for their own personality. we all have our own dreams in life & we're the only ones who should decide the path we walk on towards our own happiness. something that may make someone else happy can't always do the same 4u. & u are right, there is no right or wrong in life, all that matters is fullfilling your own dreams & expectations (so that your heart doesn't become a pickle, like it has happened to other people who are frustrated fo rlistening to others

Tell exactly what you typed. I never like comparing myself to other people you know. It is comparin a rabbit & ice cream, but at least a rabbit is cute & the ice cream is delicious. Got my point? =)

Just tell them that you do not like being compared to others. Tell them that you are a unique individual and you enjoy being that way.

What about saying, "Oh how nice it is to be compared to someone like him/her! I must've done good in some point of my life." and then smile [i mean, smile thinking about your good points].
