I was awarded money through the Road Home Program in New Orleans, but it was not enough to finish my home and bring it back to the house it was before the Hurricane.

It appears that the Road Home Program is not necessarily intended to allow one to restore a home to its pre-Katrina condition, simply due to limited funds which must be spread over the entire community.

This from the Road Home Program website......

"The Road Home program is the most massive long-term recovery program ever undertaken by any state at any time in American history. It is also unprecedented in terms of the effort by government to provide assistance to individual homeowners for home repair. While there are billions of dollars involved, the total funding available is clearly not sufficient to return every home to pre-storm conditions. Limited funding must be distributed in a way to help meet the needs of as many victims as possible."
