Jan 1st, 1976. Dick Vermeil and his Bruins(8-2-1) are dominated in the first half by Ohio St (11-0) in the Rose Bowl, but only trail 3-0 at half. Gaining only 48 total yards.

The Bruins come back in the second half and beat the undeafeated Woody Hayes Ohio St. team 23-10. Costing Hayes a National Championship. Wendell Tyler runs wild with 172 yards on 21 carries including a 54-yard TD run.

last years game ranks up there but i think the best biggest upset in rose bowl history is when ucla upset # 1ohio state after osu blasted ucla 42-20 during the season,,,
