Why can't they just walk away?

I don't know...it seems it would be a lot healthier to just walk away.
I think it stems from control...wishing to control another so bad that when that person says "enough," and walks away, the controlling type person can't allow that wife to have their freedom.
The relationship is usually based on dominance from the husband, who maybe feels less control than he would like to have in the rest of his life so he enforces it in his marriage. Then when his marriage falls apart he can't stand that he has absolutely no control over anything anymore so he goes for the ultimate "If I can't control her I will kill her."

It is sad that we have become the kinds of people we are today. Without real moral values and a strong sense of what's right and what's wrong we as humans shame the animal kingdom.
I've been watching this TV program call Gangland and it talked about men in gangs that not only kill the wife, husband, and kids, but someone put a gun to the head of a baby and pulled the trigger.....what kind of creatures have we become?

The question shouldn't be why do men murder their wives. The question should be why do people murder other people. Men don't have a monopoly on murder. Women commit murder too.

Legal system make it difficult to walk away from wives. So, they find killing is easier.

Probably for the same reasons mothers murder their children...there sickos.
To the sexist person below me: Your totally wrong.Ive seen some evil women....WISELY though,women are not normally given positions of power and trust to abuse(I wonder why?).

they hate them for being:
abusive
******
lazy
apathetic and indifferent
or simply the guys are gays!
