I'm looking at the ingredients for M&M's and it says "Beetle shells" right on there. Yep. Sure does.

No, but I wish they were. I think you are thinking of carmine coloring, a dye made from beetles. I'm quite familiar with this because I'm allergic to the much nastier chemicals that they do use to color most candy.

yes they have specially made machines that pluck the shells off the beetles ever so carefully the want the root of the shell as well that is the most important part. and to make skittles they ladybug shells

there is in fact an ingredient in them that is crushed beetle carcus extract, gross i know, i actually read that today
