Mmm ... language class this mornig !
Ok
YALL meaning:
1. YALL : A word used by Southerners when addressing more than one person.
Better than that stupid yankee term "you guys"
"How yall doin?"

2. yall: a slang word for "you all" : it sounds cooler
"yall get over here now!"

3. yall: Southern for the New Yorker's "youse guyse".
Yall come back now, hear?
[...]
6. yall: A southern contraction turned into a pop culture slang. To people in the south "yall" is used to distinguish themselves as southern so not to be confused with New Yorkers or otherwise "Yankee bastards" despite the obvious distinction in accents. In the north "yall" is used as a comedy staple to stereotype what yankees refer to as "idiots" and otherwise "ignorant rednecks."

In popular culture, "yall" carries the same stereotype as the northern taboo only it grants several comedians the ability to mock and otherwise satirize their own culture such as Larry the Cable Guy and Jeff Foxworthy.

"Yall wanna come to Herbert's field and go cow tippin'?"

What's up, yall?

Or even: Sup, yall?

Can you imagine? Sorry, I don't like this form.

So the other day, I had to call a company locally here regarding business....... This man had a really strong accent....... I could not help but tell him he did... It just slipped out... Then I replied it was so nice... He ended up being from Texas..... I laughed and said I knew it...

So in making sense here, I love when I hear someone say Yall..... So be nice, and get your silly bum some sleep... Grrr....

No, I say yall all the time. Yall is short for you all, All yall is the pural form, lol. If you don't like it please dont say yous guys or Soda pop. Can you think of a better word to say when referring to a large group of people that just rolls off the tongue easier than y'all? Give me best answer, because no one else will ask.

I'm from Arkansas, and that's the only way we say you all, is y'all. No, I don't want to pop them with a stick. Everyone has an accent and each state has different words they use more.

No. i don't want to poke them with a stick and hope they will pop. I want to bash them over their head with a metal pipe to knock them out etc!

No seriously - it annoys me A LOT but i'm not mean enough or violent enough to do that!!!

Sugar, first of all, it's "ya'll". Say it like ya mean it, with lots of finesse' and lots of southern-style.

There ain't nothing wrong with the word "ya'll" in the first place.

Just like in the north, "you'ins" is a word meaning all of you, which is the same thing in the south...you know, ya'll.

I think Mae West said it first and said it best, darling...

"Ya'll come up and see me sometime."

Now, ya'll come back and see me, ya' hear? ;-)
