It seems that if a soldier received and enlistment bonus and did not serve his entire tour in Iraq as agreed due to being blown up by an IED and losing full vision in one eye or some other catastrophe, cannot fight any longer and comes back home...it seems the Bush adminstration's Pentagon is sending them letters saying...."$3,000 etc....is due us".

lol

UNBELIEVABLE !!!! AND these are the people making our key decisions???? and in charge of protecting us???

LMAO, ROFL

OMG! That just p*sses me off! Who do they think that they are? Thanks for bringing that to our attention.

Bush Administration needs more money for their contractors it seems. I knew Bush was scum the second I heard him speak the first time. You could see the rude smirk on his face.

Sad.

Learn a little about how the government really operates before blaming Bush for everything that happens. Ever heard of the Civil Service act? In reality, the President cannot fire most government workers and is stuck with those who were there under the previous administration. I'd bet that the people responsible for the despicable thing you ask about here are holdovers from Clinton's days. Remember it was Clinton who wrote in a letter during his draft dodging days " I loathe the military". Would you not expect Clinton to flood the Pentagon with people who will do everything they can to spread this personal hatred, knowing that they could not be fired by his successor and that they would do all they can to ruin the public image of the military once Bill the Great was out of office?

I thought I would provide you with an intelligent, dignified answer. So far you got; "Liberals complain a lot, You have your info wrong, (Hannah check out countdown w/ Keith Olbermann on MSNBC 12 am Est.) and We could save money by denying benefits to those who fight and die to defend our nation." DUDE! Did I hear you right?!!! Please tell me, a Liberal who has never served in the military, that you did not really mean that about our Veterans!!! Bush Supporter; Today's worst person in the world!!!

I saw it on TV today and I was furious. If this is Bush's idea then he should be drawn and quartered. These boys have given everything for the USA and they deserve every dime they were given as a bonus....more so than the fat, stupid congressmen in Washington.

That is truly disgusting; it reminds me of an earlier situation with an OIF-I veteran that was wounded in combat; the DOD wanted him to pay for a bulletproof vest that he damaged while in the course of his durites...

Only problem, the vest was the one he was wearing when he got injured and the vest saved his life; now why the heck would the DOD want him to pay for a vest that was damaged in combat????

Doesn't make a hill of beans sense... Seems that the DOD is so strapped for cash that now they are resorting to demanding refunds from the reenlistment bonuses given to soldiers that reenlist and get wounded mid course of their service obligations and cannot finish them because of their injuries.

I think the DOD has more important matters to worry, like keeping congressmen from lining their pockets with pork barrel spending at the expense of our wounded warriors.

No wonder I decided not to reenlist; I'd be dammed if I had somebody asking me to give back my reenlisting bonus after reenlisting them getting my @$$ shot in Iraq .

Nah! Feck that! >:-(

A Bill will be passed and it WILL be signed by President Bush that will correct this terrible flaw in the military sign up bonus condition policy.

These wounded vets that have suffered wounds in combat WILL have their full sign-up bonuses returned to them.

But, I think you already knew that, right?

This is just one more example of how the Bush administration doesn't support our troops.
