I knew a Toryn once.

.... I don't remember anything else about them, except they were female.

I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

When picking out names I suggest doing some test. Such as can you repeat it out loud over and over again. How well can you say it in various tones of voice. Would you feel comfortable yelling it out loud. How would you do with this name? How would immature children handle this name?

It's good to pick something you are comfortable with and that can be said in many tones as well as not be easy to forget. If someone doesn't like their name, for whatever reason... even it being too nice, unusal, or common,.. then they go by a nickname. It's just that simple.

When people shorten their names this day and they are set up like this, they like to use an i instead of a y which some people appear to believe indicates female. I don't know why people believe that,.. but as long as they spread that belief it will be a rule in some places. Just letting you know ^_^; It happens with Toni and Teri and Tauni,.. and so on as well.

You know if you like it then use it I like it because there's not alot of people named Toryn and it's more original expecially spelled that way My name is Geela and it's different not many people are named Geela and pronounced like my name (g as in general) and I love my name because it's different then most people, no one really gets confused and says "oh which Geela" I mean at work we have 8 different crystals and yes it's very confusing. I think you should use it if your spouse doesn't like it I'd say make up a name that you havn't heard but sounds nice that's what I'm doing for my kids I want them to have unique names

I knew a male named Torrin. If you're going to use it - please use it for a male and spell it Torrin. If you like Tory for a girl, use Victoria.
