Last year I started looking for a DVD of this movie and was surprised to find it wasn't readily available. Not even Best Buy, Sam Goody's, or Blockbuster carried it. The only available copies were from Amazon for like $75, and the only ones on eBay either looked like bootlegs or were also expensive. Is there any place I can get this movie at a reasonable price? I tried recording it from Starz, but apparently DirectTV sends out this BS copyright protection signal that interferes with my recorder. I would really like to be able to sit down some night during the holidays and watch this classic movie with my girlfriend, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yet another reason I hate the Disney corporation. Unfortunately I've had no luck with any local video stores. The best I found was a beat up VHS copy, and the store wouldn't sell it. Our only Gamestop is a very small one, and they don't have it. I've tried every major retailer and apparently there isn't a new version available. Thanks anyway. Looks like I'm going to have to settle for a used copy from eBay for $40.

Disney is famous for pulling titles out of circulation. The practice is called, "Putting a title on moratorium." Disney usually waits 7-8 years between re-releases. However, you might be able to find a copy now.

Disney just released the IMAX version of Nightmare and I think I have seen DVDs of the movie at Target.

If nothing else, try your local video stores and see if they have a copy they are willing to sell used.

Good luck.

I found a used copy of it at gamestop for 12.99. Since they don't make new copies anymore then you would have to find it used at a used movie store.
Sorry I wasn't much help
