No one should be discriminated against based on religion. Doesn't mean it won't happen. It happens in the workplace all the time...it is written off as "chemistry". If people aren't ready for a Mormon, they will not vote for him. We could get a pagan, wican, or Muslim (please don't think I am lumping these groups together, rather I am trying to come up with various groups that represent various different ideas) who knew exactly how to fix the mess we are in, but americans will still make their decisions based on their own belief systems... Right or wrong, last time I checked, they still had that right.

The question is ultimately whether his religion effects his qualifications for the position. I have yet to hear a specific article of his faith that would have such an impact, though I can think of several other national figures that have religious beliefs that concern me (fortunately none of them are running this time).
However, most of the opposition based on religion comes from people who really do not agree with the law forbidding discrimination based on religion. Evangelicals believe that, as a Mormon, Romney is a heretic and as a heretic is not qualified to be President.

i think religion should play little issue in the elections. If the guy is a buddhist respect that, if he's muslim okay, if he's some extreme religion, maybe you have some reason to be making a big deal about it. I personally conform to no religion. Im agnostic. But get over it, who cares what religion someone belongs to, it doesnt make them a good or bad person. You are totally right.
John B-thats ******* gross. What the hell is that ****? Youre a weird *** dude.

Mitt Romney has not made a definitive statement regarding his belief in Mormonism. By all accounts Mitt Romney is a smart, descent man but the fact that he is a Mormon bothers a lot of people.
Mormonism by Biblical standards is a cult. Mormon doctrine is not only non-Biblical but it is anti-Christian.
Where Mitt Romney stands on this personally is not known to me but the tenets of the Mormon religion are.
Check out this link for more information on Mormonism.

Disagree - running for president isn't the same as applying for a job.
