Comet Holmes is orbiting our Sun. It will appear to double back on itself because we are orbiting the Sun faster, so we will overtake it on the inside. All the outer planets do the same thing as seen from here.

Holmes is orbiting our star. The sun. All the periodic comets we can see do that.

I don't know what the second part of the question means, unless it's that it will one day head back towards the sun, as all periodic comets do.
