So there's a guy... I'll try to make the story short. We liked each other last year, we went to homecoming together, but then we got shy and didn't talk for 6 months. He went out with this girl for 6 more months. At homecoming this year we saw each other and he didn't stop looking at me the whole night. It was like some kind of connection when we looked at each other across the room. We started talking on AIM a lot more after that, and he broke up with her two weeks after homecoming. I was one of the first people he told, and he said it was because he "didn't feel the same way anymore." Some people think he likes me, and I have a feeling... but I don't know. He told me if he didn't have a girlfriend, he would've asked me to homecoming this year, so I want to ask him to Sadies. One problem: we have amazing conversations on AIM, but it's awkward in person because we sort of have a history. I really like him, and I don't want to screw things up like last year by not talking to him. Help!

Oh, THANK GOODNESS you wrote this all without stupid abbreviations and you even used proper grammar! Wow!

Go back and read the last sentence you wrote.... You simply MUST find a way to talk to this guy! Remember that people LOVE to talk about themselves, so ask him questions like "What do you plan to do after graduation?" or "What's your favorite subjects?" You can ask about his family or pets or hobbies or books he might have read -- ANYTHING!

Try, really, really TRY to get past your 'past' and talk to him! You will always regret it if you don't.

Good luck!

On AIM, address those things which are awkward between you in person. Without the body language talking, it is sometimes easier. Once you come to an understanding, then it will tend to go away in face to face, and you can just relax your body language a little more, which in turn leads to better conversations.
Good luck, and do ask him... on AIM!

Well just talk to him in person, or over the phone. Just remember that he's the same person you talk to on AIM. Spend some time with him and see where it goes.
