My uncles and cousins who stuttered said that it was worse when they were nervous or when they were trying hard to NOT stutter. They all got help with The Stuttering Foundation of America's book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" and one uncle who went to a speech therapist who specialized in treating stuttering found that she used it in her sessions.

I have a problem like that, I have a nervous stutter and it makes me lack in confidence which I hate! I think the best thing to do is to be sure of what you want to say and say it clearly, take a deep breath and go for it, sometimes that can help. Also be confident.

When I get nervous I go dumb and not able to speak. Stammering is out of question. I never stammered in worst of situations. That's another thing that I couldn't speak at all. Even when I expressed my love to the girl I loved, I didn't stammer to say that I love U. Instead I spoke with my eyes full of love for her and she was quick to understand. U can express better many a times through facial expressions without committing yourself through words. So I never had to stammer.

No, I freeze. I forget how to do anything, and I just stand there and stare. If I am meeting soemone for the first time, I forget how to talk. If I am giving a speech, I forget how to walk up on stage. If I am in a play, I forget to move from my spot. If I am singing or performing, I forget how to do that. I simply freeze up.
