No Usually rlly thin girls get there period late in life SOME do also if Ur very active like with sports it might delay it or stop. I got my period at 10 years old i was on the normal body size but my friend who is like 80 lbs got hers for the first time at 16 it all depends on Ur body and Ur hormones.

EDIT: reading other posts i am shocked to see how little other women know about "women stuff" rlly come on now!!
If u eat healthy and are fine but skinny yes it might come later in life but sooner or later a girl will get her period and if u dont then there is somthing wrong with ur body and u need to see a doc.

Your body type does NOT dictate when you get your period.

Sorry Missy, but YOU are the moron.

Girls suffering from eating disorders or who are extremely active may stop having their period.

Yes it is true because your body doesn't have the nutrition it needs to start puberty and doesn't have enough nutrition to trigger your period.

It is true. You have to have a certain amount of body fat when you are at the age where your body is ready to start, or else it may come late.

You won't get your period if you lack the right amount of nutrients in your body.

Usually in anorexia/bulimia cases, girls won't get their periods because of lack of...nutrition/food in their body.
It doesn't necessarily mean "too thin".

It's possible if you are underweight. Girls who exercise too much or are anorexic commonly don't have a period.
