Peapie-there is a Va hospital in Des Moines,Ia. about 1 hour plus from where I live and a VA Home in Marshalltown, my hometown 20 minutes from me. They transport veterans to Des Moines hospital as needed. My dad lived there the last several years of his life and had excellent care in the Home,a lovely facility.
You may not like our Iowa winters but we have all 4 seasons of weather and no earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamies,i, floods of great magnitude in central Iowa.(unless you live along the great Mississippi river that borders all of E. Iowa and the great Missouri river that borders all of W. Iowa. We do have tornadoes but none of great devastation in central Iowa of recent years.
I am excited that you are inquiring about moving here to America as I was thinking you live in Africa. You might go on line and search for VA hospital in a particular state. Still praying for you,darlin....

My brothers live in Columbia, MO. One of them had open heart surgery at the VA hospital and it's the cleanest hospital with all of the most recent up to date medical procedures.
I have lived there and the town is basically a college town but there is always something to do. The rolling hills are beautiful with all four seasons The winters get colder than where I live in MO. and it's not lying on an earthquake fault like me:(
It is 2 hours from St. Louis and 1 hour from Jefferson City, the Capitol.
I would move there if my parents would move too.
God bless that you make the right decision for yourself.
Good luck.

DC has one of the larger VA hospitals - this is an expensive area to live but you can get lucky with housing if you're patient and find something affordable. The VA hospital is located on the grounds of hospital center that has the National Childrens Medical Center, Washington Hospital Center hospital and the National Rehab Hospital.
Philadelphia has one too - and the Philly area is quite affordable.

There is a good VA hospital in Houston and many places to live within a few miles. I mean apartments, if that's what you're looking for.

Salt Lake City, Utah. Low crime, good public transportation, good economy. My father in law is in town now to visit the VA hospital and he thinks very highly of the treatment he receives there.

I live in Indiana, and I know there is a VA hospital in Marion, Indiana. Our cost of living seems to be below average.
