what do you think about surprising teams like Orlando Magic, New orleans hornets, Boston Celtics and LA Lakers doing so well early in the season

are you shocked in seeing teams like the bulls and nets struggle?

you don't have to answer those two questions above, but since there is no wrong answer i don't mind hearing your opinion about it

well anything goes here...talk anything about the NBA and your favorite team

Refs scandal

David stern being a stupid commish

i dont have a favorite team i just have a love for the sport. but if i had to chose i would go with my hometown lakers.
1.first they have gone past most of my expectations, because i thought it would be a lousy season like years past.
2. their doing pretty good for the this season and they might make it into the playoffs. im not sure they will go to far but they will try their hardest.
3.im thrilled that they hav d fish back. but their best move ever was when they got rid of Cook. getting rid of mo well i didnt really mind, that was mainly to free up money/cap space.
4. orlando was to be expected to be better after every1 realized what a monster dwight howard can be. after the FIBA tournament they all knew that Magic was going to hav a much better season.
Again the hornets were thought to hav a better season also because they have peja for the 3s and paul for the amazing point guards skills and tyson for their center. even though peja is getting older he still has that great touch.
The celtics were known from when they got the BIG 3 that they were going to be the BIG team. they have 5 veterans to show the rooks how its done. first they have the 3 point and everything else guard, Ray Allen. then they hav the ever renound high school drafted Kevin garnett. then you also hav an amazing paul pierce. then you hav posey and pollard that just know what to do (even if their getting to old or slow to do it as well).
lakers hav the boastful yet talented bryant. he's great but he needs to get off his high chair and start being a player for the team not for himself. d fish is my favorite addition that they brought back. hes all about his family and he has a natural love for the sport that many other good players have lost. Thank the Lord that Cook is FINALLY GONE. it took them this long to realize that he is a baby that is the worst thing that happend to the lakers in a while. he has height but doesnt use it. he is terrible at shooting but he still shoots.
5. bulls did not suprise me after the injurys that took place.
nets suprised me at first because i got caught up in the idea that VC and Kidd were going to do amazing things together, but then i remembered that it takes a team to win the games.
6. any ref that is stupid enough to do that should just be put in jail, because thats a crime to ruin the game of basketball like that. he could hav swayed the final outcomes of so many games that it isnt even funny. their could hav been records that could hav been set, or different championship winners, and other worse things. this man should hav something coming to him dearly. he just ruined everything that he ever had contact with.
7. i decided to not listen to stern so i cant have an opinion on him.
8. like i said kobe should live with his choices and just get on with it and play the game of basketball it should be played. on the court not off in conferences being a stuck up baby.
9. this is a great question just because it has to do with the idea of basketball.

Kremchek said earlier that a metal plate would be inserted in the bone above Chapman's left eyebrows and would remain there permanently. Chapman has a very mild concussion but no other brain injury and no injury to his eye, Kremchek said.

"He's feeling better and he has some pain management.

My favorite team is the Chicago Bulls, well they are struggling right now, but I do hope they recuperate and get things back together before the trade rumors surrounded the team. (The problem really started when the Kobe rumor clouded the team, I believe the team morale is down after that).

From the teams you mentioned only New Orleans surprised me... because:

1. Orlando has Dwight Howard. And so far this is his best season ever slowly unleashing the beast within... showing why he truly deserved being the top pick of 2004.

2. Boston has the BIG THREE. They have an able back-up roster (Posey, House, etc.) that felt this team is capable of something special when they joined the team in the off-season.

3. The Lakers didn't surprise me at all. This is a solid team to begin with. They were just saddled with a lot of injuries add to that the challenge Kobe gave the team in the offseason (the name calling and all) this team is locked and loaded. Bynum is showing why he's the most coveted young center of this Laker team.

Hope this helps.

Well the Hawks are doing pretty well, but not as good as I have hoped. So far they are 3-7. Most people would say that sucks, but I mean come on, it's the Hawks what do you expect. Might I remind you that we did beat the Mavericks and the Suns. So that's pretty good for our team.

At the beginning of the season i would have said yes to the playoffs, but now I am coming to the realization that our team just doesn't have what it takes to go to the next level yet. Hopefully that will come very very soon.

Well Tyrone Lue is hurt, Acie Law is hurt, and Speedy Claxton is hurt. What makes those injuries so bad is that those 3 players are all Guards. So we are taking a major hit on our front court play. It really sucks.

Magic: not very surprised
Hornets: not very surprised
Celtics: expected it
LA Lakers: VERY very surprising!!

Bulls are a good team but is still young. I think they can make the playoffs though.

The Nets, well they are just getting to old. Sorry but that's the truth.

Wow! This was fun. Great Question.

The Orlando Magic are 3-1 as of right now. Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis seem to be getting off on the right foot. My only hope is that Howard can improve his percentages and effeciency and Lewis stays healthy. With those two contributing a great inside-outside game for a full season, the Magic should put up a fight in the SE Division. However, Jameer Nelson hasn't shown that he is ready to be a NBA-caliber PG (plus he is battling injuries). This may be his last season in Orlando to get things together. Plus, we lost Grant Hill in the off-season (Were you aware he was the 2nd leading scorer on the team last year?? Wow.) In the Division, the Bobcats vastly improved with the addition of J-Rich. A team with Okafur, Richardson, Raymond Felton, and Gerald Wallace seems pretty intimidating on paper. The Heat seem to be getting worse and older (but the return of Wade should help them greatly). Hopefully Orlando can stay competitive with these teams. MVP? Early signs show K.G. as being dominate as ever. If you thought he was good in Minnesota, imagine how he'll be when the playoffs are not only a possibility, but Boston is a favorite in the East to go all the way. The man never gave less that 100% in Minnesota, so get ready for 20+ ppg and 12+ rpg.

Lakers are doing pretty good. Not outstanding but they have shown glimpses of great basketball, beating good teams like Phoenix, Utah, Houston, and Detroit. The situation for Kobe looks like he's stuck with the Lakers for the next year or so. They have a decent record right now, but Lakers fans shouldn't get their hopes up, remember last season when the injuries started piling up. Also, I just read the recent sports news and found out Brian Cook and Mo Evans have been traded for Trevor Ariza. I like, but also dislike the move. Cook I hated because he was overpaid and a horrible player, but Mo Evans I liked and was a good backup for Kobe. But in the end they save money and get rid of Brian Cook. They killed the Pacers today, and hopefully they can keep up the good work.

The Houston Rockets- My team went from great, to good, to average. Tracy McGrady went down with that elbow injury and they loss 5 in a row including in his comeback today. The erratic play of Rafer Alston and Chuck Hayes hasn't helped the situation either. Now if only Mike James and Luis Scola started........

The cavs seem to be struggling a bit but i think they will make the playoffs. Lebron is playing awesomely but he doesnt have much support. Daniel Gibson is just starting to perform and he will eb a good player. But the cavs are struggling to beat the easier teams even with lebron playing some awesome ball.

My Cavaliers did nothing to improve the team over the off season.
Added a couple of new stiffs to compliment a few of the old stiffs.
And playing mediocre ball to prove the point.
So much for getting Lebron some help.
