The Republic of Ireland was neutral in WWII. I have read that they sent a note of condolence to the German government after hearing that Hitler had died. Irish hatred for England was much more intense than hatred of Germany. I can't imagine Hitler or Germany wanted to attack Ireland at all. As one answerer said above, Hitler did not hate the English - but many Irish remember centuries of persecution and do have hatred for the English.
[I'm half German half Irish, but I don't hate anyone.
Kinda like the English and Scots too.]

This below from a Wiki source:
Ireland maintained a public stance of neutrality by refusing to close the German and Japanese embassies, and the head of state de Valera signed the book of condolence on Adolf Hitler’s death, on May 2, 1945, and visited personally with the Nazi representative in Ireland. The American Ambassador to Ireland, David Gray, stated that he once asked de Valera what he would do if German paratroopers "liberated Derry". According to Gray, de Valera was silent for a time and then replied "I don't know".

Hitler didn't want to conquer England or Ireland. When England didn't acquiesce to German aggression on the continent, he was forced to attack his 'cousins across the Channel'. In an attempt to weaken the English military and fighting resolve, Germany attempted to incite revolt in Ireland. The idea was that the English forces would be spread out, making invading England easier, or in an ideal situation, Ireland becoming a staging area for German planes and subs, helping to choke England into surrender.

Eventually, Hitler would have went after Ireland too if he had been successful with England.

The Irish as tough people. But Hitler would have needed the V2 rockets to work better to conquer England. Possibly the heavy water atomic experiments would have needed to work too for Hitler to have taken England. Ireland is tough but it wouldn't have survived an atomic bomb.

Thankfully it never happened. Hitler was very stupid and decided to attack the Soviet Union. BAD IDEA having a war on two fronts.
