If we buy something that we know we will not return like clothing we pay cash. If we buy something that we are concerned might not work like electronics we use the credit card. It gives you more protection if it doesn't work because you can dispute the charge and refuse to pay. We won't go into deep debt that takes months to pay off though. It will be paid for by the end of the month if everything works ok.

I won't go into debt this year its cash all the way. If I don't have the money on hand than I'm not buying it. Its no gift to give your family a years worth of debt! I think people should buy what they can afford and then stop buying stuff!

Cash only.
Here is what my family does since there are so many of us.
The adults buy for the kids only but the adults spend $10 on a gag gift and put them all into a grab bag and have fun.

I don't have credit cards. I only spend what I have. I have heard too many horror stories re: credit card debt.

Landlady, A little of both. Once again, I'll realize the American Dream---be on credit and in debt. Merry Christmas!!!

I couldn't imagine being in that state. Honestly, are material goods that important?
I'm a conscientious buyer, and I have a budget. I usually stick with it. We don't need to play with the commercialism of xmas by purchasing expensive gifts.
