Preconceived?
Wow, that is big question.
I have so many I could fill a novel.
1. There is someone for everyone.
2. You don't fall in love, you become love, and love becomes you.
3. Love comes in many shapes and sizes and dynamics for any kind of relationship you may be interested in forming, even a realtionship with yourself
4. Love does mean never having to say you are sorry, because it is tattoo'd all over your soul.
5. Sex without love is like art without beauty, meaningless exercise.
6. Once you are in love, love is all around you.
7. You can not change someone or trick them into loving you.
8. You can not control someone who loves you unless that person wants to be controlled.
9. Love and Anger are to extremes of the same thing Sadness and Joy.
10. Love exists forever.
I could go on but the answer is Yes and I would be glad to tell you more but this place does not fit well any long discussions on the value of love, what love is, how love works, or how to recognize love, but; I have notions on all of those subjects and they are only preconceived in that they exist before any relationship I enter into. I just hit on a few of the surface truths to make you wonder how deep my philosophies go.
Have fun thinking about it.

I never had any preconceived notions, because my mother's own experience with my father proved to me how unpredictable love could be. I did, however, have a model from which to learn - that being my grandparents, who were far from perfect but perfect for each other. Even now, with my grandfather gone for over 20 years, my grandmother is completely devoted.
I wanna be loved like that.

My answer to this would be to tell him EXACTLY what you said here!!! When you don't have money -- it's hard fitting in with people a lot of the time. You'd be surprised. I grew up well but later things went down hill (for many many reasons I had no control over) --- I never thought I was as well off as a child until I got older because my parents were like yours seem to be. After our lives went downhill financially, people started looking down on us (part of the reason was breast cancer -- just to give you an idea). We were put down and it feels bad. I know what he's trying to say to you but see.....just be honest - like you are here.

It's all scrambled up between my memories and heart. Sometimes it hurts and sometimes it fills me with joy. There are some forms of love I havent experienced yet and I'm all for it. But I really don't expect it all to be peaches and cream.

Not any longer. I used to believe that love was a certain way, and that it really didn't matter because I wasn't going to find it anyway.
I was wrong. My love is not what I wanted, it's what I need.

Yes,
before finding it... that it didn't exist,
or at least not where I was looking.
after finding it... (when not looking)
a simplistic definition being:
that love is the condition whereby
the happiness of the ones you love
being key to ones own.
the holder of the key

Love is an emotion that we all want to feel. But when love ends, it is almost like losing someone to death.

Yes, that it is tough and hurtful. Sorry to be such a realist, but I can't help it! However, I still think it's worth it.
