The women did a wide majority of the work in WW 2 due to the men being off fighting.--The Rosie the Riveter was a popular poster back then. The women did a wide variety of Jobs in the Aircraft Industry--Riveting the Aluminum Skins on the aircraft. Welding--Running Machinery such as lathes -drill presses--Milling Machines. They also Test Flew the Airplanes. Many Automotive Plants converted to Aircraft Plants for the War effort. Same goes for Ammunition--Artillery Shells-Machine Gun Bullets ect. A lot of Sewing machine Companies cashed in on this as well. Making M-1 ammo clips--Machine gun belts and so forth. The women did the assembly work also. Plus running the Machinery I listed Above. They worked Long Hours and took Pride in their Work!!!!!
