The same question goes for porcelain and bone.

Ivory is organic and if you heat a paperclip or other wire and poke it in a hidden location, a test for ivory vs plastic, is that ivory will smell like burning hair. If subjected to enough heat it will burn. Bone will char and with enough heat will calcine - lose its structure and turn to powder like plaster of Paris.
Porcelain is clay fired to a very high temperature (2400F) and has vitrified - encased the clay particles in glass like structures. If heated enough it will glow white hot and recover nicely if not cooled too quickly, which is why it is used for laboratory work involving heating material.

It will burn if it's at a high temperature for a very long time. Ivory is made of dentine and enamel
