Hello everyone,

I am considering donating to a political candidate, something I have never done before. The only catch is that I am looking to relocate to the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC....so I'd like to donate to perhaps someone running for county executive, or something along those lines. I do have some questions though-is it true that the more you donate, the more influence he/she can help you to find a government job? Also, how much can you donate-I was under the impression now it is capped. Thank you so much for your help and happy Thanksgiving!

Pepsi 118 ? From the answers to your question apparently you struck a discord with some.Political contributions will weigh heavily in the 2008 Presidential election. Enough is coming into the Dems coffers to probably buy the election. Maybe George Soros will be satisfied.Political contributions are now all important because all media through which the candidates must contact the public are expensive. One cannot campaign from the back of the train as HST did and expect to win.Contribute time money and effort to the candidate you support cause you may be stuck with a worse choice. Who knows how your choice will perform.

You would be better served if you took the money you intend to donate to any politician and set fire to it.
