Dear everyone,
Stop arguing. You're all being played.
The middle class helps to keep the population of rich people at a minimum. (Fewer rich people = more money for rich people.) They (the middle class) pay the highest taxes. This helps the rich in three ways: 1) It's money that rich people don't have to pay. 2) It greatly decreases the chance of middle class persons ever hitting ''the rich mark'', as they have to struggle just to remain in the middle class bracket. 3) Some of that tax revenue assists in keeping the poor impoverished by providing little government assistance with no incentives for people to make improvements.
The middle class also serves as blinders. In other words, the presence of a middle class causes many citizens to believe the lies that are spoon fed to us by the politicians, big business, etc... They (the citizens) are blinded by the existence of a middle class and can't see the true motives of people in power (allowing those in power to remain as they are without making any changes that would make things better for all of us).
The only people who aren't getting screwed are the rich and those whose pockets they line.

And how is it the fault of the rich that just (over 40 million, more accurately)* Americans do not have insurance. It may not be that they can afford it, it maybe they are small business owners who choose not to purchase it, or maybe some work for companies that don't offer group insurance. Of your 89 million figure how many of those are illegal aliens? If that is the case they shouldn't be here in the first place.
They should get a job that offers health care benefits.
I am far from rich, I work as a police dispatcher and my husband is self employed, I have group health insurance through my job. Your question makes it sound like it is only the rich that have health insurance. Plullleezz!

I'm in favor of universal health insurance, but you're overstating the case more than just a little bit. Not only does that figure include people who may have been uninsured only very briefly, as when changing jobs and opting not to pay for their EMTALA-mandated option to continue the previous coverage, but it also assigns blame to a nebulous group (who are "the rich?") and for a reason that you yourself posited. Even without universal coverage, I'd like to see major changes in the way health insurance is regulated, and diverting attention from the problems to blaming an unrelated group isn't very productive. After all, "the richest country in the world" spends twice as much per capita on health care as others, and it isn't "the rich" who consume all those health-care dollars.

Now it's 89.6? I thougHt Finland was the richest country in the world? Or was it Belgium or Luxembourg?
Yeah, yeah, that's it Luxembourg. Numero uno.
US is a distant 4th behind Norway. That's according to the International Monetary Fund. The CIA factbook has the US at 6th behind Ireland. Liberia comes in last. They didn't beat Burundi and Burundi doesn't even report.
Uninsured Americans
43m USA today
46m US Census
46.6m Center for Budget Policy
47m National Calition on Health Care
43.6m High Beam research
Looks like you're off by a little over 100%

Yea like that rich neo con George sorros, he has so much money and he can not take it with him. Why doesn't he help people like the computer guy. Funny how the rich enjoy martinis and fish eggs and then go to the face lift doctors and when you ask them to spare a dime, they ask if you have change for a hundred. You wait one day I'm goin to have that $99.90 and freak them out. Take care. Oh lyea and those rich actors like George Looney, you know drinking and stuff.

Very honey we have one here at my job that feels that the poor should just stop being lazy and they should stop all public funding. I said if they gov. did that then you be complaining that their were paupers in the streets, which would lead to the complaint that the cities are too dangerous, then a bunch of other issues that would happen. it is my opinion that the rich just want something to complain about b/c they are bored w/ shopping.

Very but it is no surprise is it? Seems they think of us as dogs and giving us just a few crumbs off their plate is enough. A basic need ignored because of greed.

Greedy? how's that? I earn the money working 12 - 16 hour days, make a good living for my family, only to see it stolen by the Federal Government and redistributed to non-producers who then have the nerve to say I'm making too much and need to pay more so they can have free health care !!! I pay for my health insurance, it's called family planning, perhaps people should plan ahead and think about what you need instead of what you want. You've got to be kidding me !!! Greedy? Ok then, yeah... I'm a greedy SOB !!!
Tax the poor !!!
