There are many ways to help animals. I am glad that you are such a sweet heart and have an interest in taking care of animals =].
I have been volunteering at the animal shelter for many years now. There are many animals brought here because they have been abannoned or abused. Its very upsetting but here we are trying our best to take care of them and give them the appropriate home they deserve. The work we do here is fantastic and great.
I recommend that you should volunteer at the animal shelters. Farms and Zoos are always looking for community volunteers to help out with the wonderful animals.
Also, on school holiday breaks, you can earn a part time job at the local pet store, where you would help care for the young puppies and adorable animals while earning some extra dolllars.
If you are free and have extra time, you can drive/walk around town and take any homeless animals you find to the shelters. Also if you want a pet at home to make friends with you can adopt a kitty or puppy from the shelters.
A good idea is to join community groups and parties that have the same interest as you do when it comes to the rights of our animals.
You can start an awareness campaign our make people around you aware of how animals should be treated and taken care of.
It can be great work to Raise money for ASPCA, the Humane Society or a local animal shelter. Remember to also support those politcal parties that support and work with animals.
Search the internet and find out about more things in your community, maybe you can volunteer at other places that animals would need help and also focus on a career where in the future you can work with animals.
Thats what i am aiming to do at the moment. I cant want to finish my college cource.
Animals are so lovely and adorable. =] bless you for your great interest in helping animals. You are absolutely great. Best of luck with the future.
I hope this helps, good luck =]

Volunteer at a local animal shelter.
There's PLENTY of things they can do to help out...
* Dogs need to be yarded/walked/socialized
* Cats need to be socialized, litter boxes scooped, bedding changed, etc.
* There's tons of laundry to be done
* Food/water bowls need to be washed
* The animals need to be fed usually twice per day
This is a great way to teach a teen good work ethic & responsibility. If it weren't for volunteers, these non-profit organizations wouldn't exist. Plus, this is very rewarding work. The lives of these animals depend on good, hardworking people.
=)

Be sure to adopt one or two pets from an animal shelter
Get your pets neutered
Encourage your friends to get pets and have them neutered
If all people who had pets took good care of them, and neutered them, we would not have the problem of pet overpopulation that we have today. I dream of a day when pets and animals are treated well and we do not need shelters anymore. Imagine.
Best wishes.

Volunteer as a dog walker and animal socializer at the animal shelter.
Ask what else you can do there, some shelters have rehabbers, they can let you learn how to handle wildlife under their supervision.

I know when I was a teenager, I had a hard time getting volunteer work at animal shelters....they all declined me, saying that insurance and liability required me to be at least 18. Ask around your town humane societies anyway, but do not be discouraged if you get turned away.
Here are some other ideas:
Visit Petsmart/Petco on a weekend when they are doing their pet adoptions, and ask the people in charge if you can help them with anything. Many smaller rescue groups are not so caught up in "liability" that they would be more than happy to have you helping them wash, feed, exercise and help care for their animals.
Start a "drive" for pet supplies in your town. Especially this time of year, people are in a giving mood. Find out what kinds of supplies are on your local humane society's "wish list"....then put out the word for your townspeople to help fill it!! Ask people to donate unneeded leashes, toys, food bowls, crates, blankets, brushes, shampoos, etc. Or ask for dog/cat food donations. Local animal hospitals, groomers, or pet stores may be willing to participate by allowing you to put up flyers, and they may act as "drop spots" for donations. At the end of the drive, pick up all the donated supplies and bring them to your humane society.
If you know of a food drive going on in your town for needy people for the holidays....find out if you can "piggyback" on to their drive, so to speak....and ask for people to donate dog and cat food for the PETS of less fortunate families. Lots of needy families have pets. Plenty of elderly people are on a fixed income and fall into the "needy" category....and lots of elderly people live alone with nothing but their pets. Sometimes it's a choice between cat food for the week, or their heart medication.....and needy people's pets are often times overlooked, especially during the holidays when the primary focus is on helping the people.
Visit www.petfinder.com and do a search for animal rescue groups in your area. Contact the people from the rescue groups and see if there's anything you can help them with.
Make up and distribute some brochures or flyers that will help educate people (in a polite, friendly, and helpful manner- if you are rude or "extremist" about it, you will alienate the "average joe"....and it's usually the 'average joe' who causes the problems LOL) about some issue of animal welfare or responsible pet ownership that you care about. Something like the benefits of spay/neuter and the pet overpopulation problem.....or the truth about puppy mills and why not to buy puppies from a pet shop (that'll be a big issue as Christmas comes closer...) or whatever issue YOU feel strongly about.
Good luck and bless you for having a big heart :)

Stop stereotyping cats. My cat loves me, and sleeps with me each night time. Not each cat is evil. In truth, such a lot puppies are larger than cats and feature a more difficult chew. And you are opinion on how they seem "evil" is ridiculous. Anyways, sloths. They're so creepy and disgusting and gradual. It scares me the seem they have got.
