Do you think my fiance is racist?

Question

I won't bore you with the many reasons why he thinks his people (Jews), are the best people on Earth.

Anyway, last night he told his brother that he read a "study" on IQ levels of different races. He said african americans averaged 85, chinese 110, white europeans 115 and eastern european Jews 140.

Do you think this is legit? I can't find any of these articles online. He is also good at making outrageous claims.. such as Gov. Joe Manchin as a vice president nominee for next election.

those numbers are wrong, but it's true that jews on average score better on IQ tests, while chinese are above average, blacks & mexicans are below average, etc.

the amount of difference that he claimed is absurd - 140 average, for jews? that's ridiculous. the numbers are not nearly that much different.

there are different reasons for the differences that do exist - for one thing, IQ tests are bunk. they include questions like "which of these is a city" - tell me, does that test intelligence or general knowledge?

The questions that might be good for testing "intelligence", e.g. finding visual patterns, are also only focusing on one very limited range of human intelligence, and as such don't provide anything near a comprehensive analysis.

Intelligence, furthermore, is not very well-defined to begin with, so I guess it's understandable that the IQ tests would be as ridiculous as they are.

Perhaps most importantly, people who are better-educated score better than others. Across the entire globe, blacks & mexicans are poorer than europeans, jews, & asians. There are many reasons for this, including discrimination, history, etc. - but whatever the reasons, the facts are the facts, and certain ethnic groups do have access to more money, and as such have better education, etc.

This difference in ECONOMIC factors is the biggest reason for differences in tested IQ scores.

All that said, I don't think that statement necessarily makes him racist. He might be, he might not. He's correct in that there are differences in the way these different groups score, but he is incorrect with his numbers, and it's impossible to tell what he thinks the reasons for the differences are.

To me it sounds like he's just very proud of being Jewish, which is not bad, but could become bad when taken to the exteme of putting everyone else down.

There was a study/research by some DNA 'expert' who claimed that africans had the lowest IQ's and Europeans had the highest . He was reprimanded for it by his peers. I don't recall any exact figures he tossed out if there were any. That may be where he got his information from, however there's no real scientific consensus for it other than the one guys opinion.

I dont believe what your fiance said to be racist if he got bad information and was giving it as truth. It's an uninformed comment is all.

Edit: I come across some blurb of some supposed not mentioned study that says ver batim what he says. Sounds like he just passed along as fact with no proof..such as this.

There is nothing wrong with someone being proud of the heritage however it’s a whole new ballgame when they think their people are superior to other people.

Obviously this area is extremely controversial and I wouldn’t say anyone is right, it really comes down to what they believe. Their are superior intelligent people in all races, and all races have their low intelligent. As you can also see they go by different regions parts of the countries. I'm sure there are some people who have never taken an IQ test.

Dear oh dear. I am African American, and I scored a 115 on an IQ test. Yes, he is certainly a racist. It is amazing to me that some on this blog do not consider him to be of such.. Anyone that thinks their "RACE" is better than anyone else's is no question ethnocentric, and racist. There are intelligent people of all races. Also, Intelligence can be found in many different ways. I sing opera, and conduct classical music. I sing in French, German, Italian, and also in English. He would most likely mis-judge me and think I sing gospel or **** like that. I say dump him quickly and date someone with INTELLIGENCE!!!!!!

I've begun to notice a trend recently. It seems every race is the greatest, smartest, bestest so long as you're asking a member of that said race. So long as you don't ask your average white american. We've been programmed to downgrade ourselves in an apology for historical crimes against humanity. Well, except for the white supremacists, but who can take them seriously?

I went to college in California, and it was quite the multi-cultural experience. I made friends with a sweet girl from India, who over the next semester continued to regale me with tales of how Indian culture was superior to american, and Indian music was better than American, and their women were prettier, and their men were smarter, and so on and so forth. I'm all for pride in who you are, and where you come from right up until you rub it in my nose and expect me to take it. Because the instance I dare to take pride in myself and my own, I'm considered racist and a supremacist, and down on minorities.

Now, I'm not saying all Indians are that way, or all Jews, or all Blacks, or all anybody. That was merely an example of many experiences, that was just the most memorable.

I really didn't used to be this jaded. I swear. And I still say, be proud of who you are, and where you come from. That's great! It really is! But don't expect me to sit humble and quiet and repenetant while you do so, because I'm allowed my own pride.

How is that racist you recognize a few of these questions of whether or not or now not any one is racist is getting out of hand. Again I say to you individuals feel while is it racist to love chocolate over vanilla I like chocolate icecream over vanilla icecream and I like vanilla cake over chocoalote cake it's only a question of style now not race. -God I will have to be a therapist on the grounds that I am too well at what I do to not be paid

Nah, he's not racist.

He's has too much hot air, that's for sure, but unless he makes direct comments against other races, then he's not a racist.

To me all he's really doing, is pumping up some kind of insecurities he has deep down. No matter how proud you are, you're not going to talk about it 24/7 unless you have reason to fear your beliefs.

His study though, is bogus.

Even if it is true, studies are completely and utterly flimsy. One month they saw something, and the next month they contradict themselves.

He's right but wrong.

IQ tests are based on education, but if you have gotten a shoddy education, they are of no real use, either to the person taking the test or the person scoring the test.

i took an IQ test geared more towards a Black Culture and i got crushed, as they asked me things I did not know or understand. So the tests, are, at best, an indicator or intelligence, but not a real examination of it

These articles exist and they are specious and false. Why do you find this guy attractive? Intelligent people of all races exist. You seem to have found some one of a limited intelligence who may also be kosher. Yes he is racist and a short sighted fool.
