Kobe's a solid player, but a big asshole. He's a huge egomaniac, not unlike Lebron. NBA teams don't win because of great guards, they win because of great big men, like Laimbeer, Rodman, Pippen, Duncan, Shaq, Olajuwon. A great guard can put those teams over the top. Look at Boston. Houston's not a good example because Yao is horribly overrated.
Kobe's too dumb to understand what it takes to win. His NBA career will end rather mundanely, like Marbury's.
Wow, to the above poster that dissed Shaq in the 2004 Finals, remember that they had beaten three other teams, including the Spurs to get to the Finals. So, he couldn't have been that bad!

as reported before, the Lakers will not be retaining Shaq even if Kobe will sign or not with team so it has to be cleared that he did drove away Shaq. Even Shaq Daddy believed Kobe.
Yes, i would still take Kobe simply because he is a great player. The recent commotion should not only be blamed on him, it is just a retaliation for the team's failure to get decent players.
Kobe is one of the greatest players in the NBA so there's no question he will be a BIG help to the team.
Here are some scenarios for you:
Phoenix - if you put Kobe with Nash, Amare and Hill
Dallas - put Kobe with Dirk, Terry and Stackhouse
Spurs - put Kobe with Duncan
Boston - KObe with Garnett and Pierce/Allen
Chicago - Kobe with Deng/Wallace/Nocioni/Hinrich
I could go on and on and you would simply think of one thing with these combinations... RINGS

Thank you PJ and Brian! Why are you stating he ran Shaq out of LA. You don't even know the story. Buss said that he wasn't willing to sign Shaq to a huge deal since he was starting to age and had weight problems. Mainly the money, Kobe had nothing to do with the final decision of him leaving LA. Kobe didn't help the situation, but he didn't run Shaq out. Get the facts straight, and yes, why wouldn't you want the best player in the nba on your team. Ask Lebron, he wouldn't mind!

it is previous information... it is merely the comprehensive tale has been made greater public. between the NBA proprietors, Jerry Buss is a financially destructive proprietor. He does not extremely have an ingredient company like Mark Cuban, James Dolan, Dan Gilbert, or Donald Sterling (or area-proprietor Jay-Z). whilst the NBA implicated the posh tax, Jerry Buss easily hated it. The Lakers have been over the posh tax threshold and he does not have as great of a war chest as Donald Sterling who owns actual sources around Southern California. Do i think of Kobe's an harmless sufferer? Nope... the place there is smoke, there is fire. How plenty grew to become into written approximately Kobe desiring his very own team? If he wished the Lakers to maintain Shaq, he could have supported Shaq, or a minimum of no longer say something approximately "desiring his very own team". And why did Shaq no longer consult with Kobe for various seasons after the commerce? because of the fact he knew Kobe did no longer have his returned. Jerry Buss has the excellent determination, yet Kobe performed alongside because of the fact he have been given his very own team. i think of Shaq's merely bored stiff in speaking on the subject of the feud. So he's merely going to declare it grew to become into Jerry Buss' determination...

Shaq is the one who gave the Lakers a list of teams he wanted to be traded too, not Kobe. He couldn't face the fact that Kobe was getting better than him, and refused to play hard. He wouldn't come to camp in shape, weighing 350. Who got blamed for that though? Kobe did. Why? Was Kobe the one force feeding donuts down his throat? No, Shaq just loves the buffet line. Kobe plays hard all the time. You didn't see Rip Hamilton dominate Kobe in the last finals the Lakers were in. You did see Ben Wallace dominate Shaq though. He ran his fat butt up and down that court, Shaq was begging for mercy. That's when Phil had had enough. Shaq had followed Phils lead, with his trade demands, with Miami, Dallas, and New Orleans on his short list. Kobe just tested the market for the 1st time like any free agent would. Heck, even Magic Johnson said he did, before re-signing with the Lakers for life. So stop hating Kobe for everything Shaq wanted and did. Shaq was the one crying on tv all the time, even after he was traded. Very childish of him. Instead of growing out all the time, he needs to grow up for once.

Hell Yeah.
He didn't "run" Shaq out of LA. (If Shaq can even run.)
Kobe is just an all around great player. He stays focused during game time and he always delivers. Maybe not an awesome team player but he still has many bright moments.

It depends on what team, and who you are trading him for. For example, if I were GM of the celtics, I would trade Paul Pierce for Kobe Bryant but I wouldn't trade him for Garnett since he is the only inside scoring threat on the team. To put it simply, emotions aside, I would trade for Kobe Bryant for any other player but exclusive inside big men(ex.Duncan and garnett), since those are rare. Further, the NBA is a business, so ask yourself this question: Does Kobe sell? Can fans who hate Kobe Bryant start cheering for him? Ask the Bulls players what happened in their home court against the 76ers and raptors(Chicago fans known for hating Kobe in the past were chanting K-O-B-E, K-O-B-E). So to answer you question unless its not Tim Duncan, or Kevin Garnett, I would welcome Kobe Bryant with open arms, he will surely boost my team's revenue.

1) He did not run Shaq out of LA.
Shaq demanded a trade since Kobe opted out of his contract and Shaq didn't like the direction the team was heading as it didn't sign phil jackson to another contract (Jackson needed a break cuz of health issues)
2) He is already on my team, and if i was a fan of another team, i would want him on my team.
