We don't have snow here in a little town I live in outside Melbourne Australia.
But when my children were young I used to take them on a trip with Steam-rail Victoria up to see the snow. It was a wonderful day with a barbecue lunch and throwing snowballs.
Last year my son moved to Tasmania which is an island state south( which in the southern hemisphere means colder) of here
Christmas in Australia is usually hot but by some miracle it snowed in the mountains. He took his pregnant wife there and they had a lovely time in the snow, so my first grandchild has seen snow in "the oven" I suppose
I would hate to have it around all the time though and to have to shovel it. Instead we often have to carry water in the dry season, does that count?

I rake the leaves with the lawnmower and that's not much fun since I have to empty the bag every once around. I don't care much for the snow, but I bundle up and grab the snow shovel and I shovel the drive and the walks. My dog follows me back and forth until everything is cleared and then we play catch with snowballs. The neighbors get a kick out of watching us play in the front yard. You can't miss a black lab playing in the deep white snow!

When we were kids we loved to rake leaves and jump in the piles and then we'd have to rake them all over again. lol
We shoveled snow and built snowmen and went sleigh riding. We moved south, so we don't have to shovel snow now and the trees are back far enough that we don't have to rake them, but when I go back home I'd rather shovel snow now.

I've come to the conclusion, snow is perhaps cold, and leaves can be piled and jumped into. Of course that might mean you'd have to do more raking, but I find the thought of that more enjoyable than soaking in making snow angels.

When I was a youngster, I used to love to rake leaves & shovel snow, but as an adult, it wasn't fun anymore & driving in that nasty snow was not my favorite thing to do. I recently left Ohio, moved south, & all the brutal winters are now behind me & I don't have any raking to do either. Life is good!!!

Old fashioned tools only and I enjoy shoveling the best because raking makes my allergies act up bad.

Raking leaves and the old fashion way is more fun by far.

Now did you know that by leaving the leaves on your lawn/yard and just mow over them with your lawn mower it puts vitamins back in your lawn/yard that it really needs.

After it has snowed, I go clean off my parents porch, steps and walk way for them and that is done the old fashion way as well.

I've only shoveled snow ONCE in 42 years. Not much of it falls here in S.E. Virginia.
I use my lawn mower with the bag attachment to take up what leaves that don't blow down the street to my neighbor's yard. One year, it was so windy, I never used my mower ONCE to suck up any leaves.
