Supposedly the Cubs will be going full bore after Japanese player Kosuke Fukudome. He's an outfielder and would probably play left field with Felix Pie playing center.
I dont think Hunter will be signing there, the other team in Cubbyland will push harder for him.
Rumor also has it that Hunter has promised the Twins the chance to match any offer he gets from another team.

I can see the Chicago Cubs need a lot of help, even with the fact is that they have made the playoffs, this year thier first since 2003, but were knocked out in the first round by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Now the Chicago Cubs have made some moves already, but the most place they need help with is pitching, including the bullpen. And they have been known to fall apart in games, even when the starters can't control themselves, like Carlos Zambrano, and they have be pulled from the game early on, instead of working deep into games, wher they might go 6-8 innings, or even a compelete game, but you can't always count on that happening. But I can see Jim Hendry making a lot of moves, even of he wants his team to have a shot at all in 2008, but they will need help in the bullpen.

I've still got to stick to my guns about the possibility of them signing Kaz Matsui and then using that as a tool to bring in one of those power left handed hitters from Japan --- however, I would take Torri Hunter over Andruw (can't even spell it right) Jones any day. Torii has a decent bat, and even though he doesn't drive the long ones like Jones does, he puts Jones to shame for defense.
Jones is damaged goods in my book. His proneness to injuries is growing every season. That and he's not good chemistry for the Cubs.

The Cubs will probably sign Tori Hunter, I can see him going to Chicago. Chicago should have a good year, but Chicago has had problems with keeping people healthy. Cubs should battle the mets for an NL title.

what you said...... and an owner. The chances are slim for hunter because the cubs need a right fielder who hits left-handed. I see Hunter on the southside.

Torii Hunter or Andruw Jones are both possible. However I think Jones is going to be the one they sign. Other than that it's a crap shoot.
