I am interested in finding phone numbers, snail mail addresses or email addresses for former major league baseball players who had a very short, "cup of coffee" type career in either the 1970's or 1980's (less than two years - 100 or fewer AB in total career or less than 50IP). I just want to talk with them about their MLB experience.

The easiest ones to find will be those who've stayed in organized baseball - it's not unusual for marginal former players to hang on as minor league coaches or the like. If you find them, write to the care of whatever organization they're working for.

You might also try the MLB Players Association - they would keep contact info for many players.

That would be really cool because those players would really remember every second of their careers. The time they got the call up, the first strikeout, the first HR. Very nice, but I don't know how you could find that info. I don't think it's possible unless you know a person exactly and know what town they are currently living in. Then a phone book would help.

I CAN tell you that Mackey Sasser was from the town I currently live in. Panama City, Fl. At the time he came up w/ the Mets as a Catcher it was a very small town. It's still pretty small but it's growing big time. There are Sasser names in the phone book. I would try to find him first and maybe he can tell you about others.

Whomever you want to find out about, just do a search on Yahoo! or Google and it should come up with several options. I've found out about several ex-players this way.
