Has anyone had problem with static once in a while. Every once in a while (a few or more times a day) I get a white fuzzy static or interference across the screen with static noise. It sometime last for a few seconds. Was just wondering what the problem could be or if anyone else has come across the the same problem. Dont really want to call a tech out but may have to, any ideas would be great.

Thanks

The problem is not with the dish or the receiver. The problem is in the wiring between your receiver and tv. Get behind it and start wiggling wires, should be fairly easy to find the bad one. The push-on style of connectors are especially prone to this type of problem. I usually take them off and replace them. If they are not the cause of your problem now, they will be soon! If you have the screw-on type, make sure they are not loose.

This will fix 99% of problems like you are describing. The other 1% are crazy things like a neighbor with a CB, a bad tuner in your tv, I even had a squirrel in an attic once chewing on the wires!

If you can't get it straightened out, let me know and we can brainstorm some more.

The loose cable is a good thing to check.

If that does not solve the problem, Check the line-of-sight on the dish. I have had occasional outages when a plane comes between my dish and the sat, and it totally went out one night - a climbing vine and grown up to the dish and obscured part of it.

Others have noticed problems when the wind blows: a tree in the sight-path would toss and interrupt the signal.
