As they told us in Army Basic training, there are two types of guys:
Those who masturbate
And those who lie and say they don't
The Bible supposedly condemns masturbating because it is 'spilling the seed'- but birth control for women and anal and oral sex also fall under this umbrella.
My guess is you don't feel guilty about masturbating- the guilt lies in your broken relationship. Hopefully you will become strong enough to forget about her and move on.
Life really is too short. Been there and done that.

Shame is a learned social construct. You've been taught to think that other males do not masturbate (you make that evident in your statement "I'm not a loser" -- no one I know would even think that anyone else would think they were -- because all males masturbate regularly and nearly all males know that. There are no healthy exceptions.) You've probably also been taught that your own penis is dirty -- many parents manage to instill that sort of nonsense in boys when they are young because they are embarrassed that their sons, when they are a few years old, are always handling themselves -- therefore parents with poor nurturing skills, and no understanding (sorry, this is not meant to offend, but I get upset when I see this done to boys) of child psychology or development say things like "don't touch it, its dirty" or "that's nasty" -- even though young men rarely remember the actual incidents, the words are set in the super-ego (the part of consciousness that generally causes guilt) and the young man ends up with a complex against masturbation that is very unhealthy and destructive -- particularly given that not only are there emotional benefits to masturbation when one is not twisted on the subject, but clear and demonstrated health benefits..
As for the Bible -- you don't want me to go there -- if you ACTUALLY have any interest in taking a deeper look at that particular document - rather than simply accepting that it must be the Word of God because lots of people you have been taught to respect tell you it is -- you might start with Dr. Bart Ehrman; "Misquoting Jesus: The story of who changed the Bible and why;" Harper Press -- or for a more cursory but compelling look, try the site I maintain (linked below at the end of links.) Do not bother with these things if you have already decided not to think -- that would be a waste of your time and my bandwidth -- or your money and good paper.
In any event, masturbation is good for you -- get over the crap you've been taught, enjoy yourself -- and LIVE -- its actually worth it.
Regards,
Reyn

i used to feel like that. don't know how old you are but i'm 13 and i've been masturbating since12. masturbating is a normal part of life if it was a sin all the men in the world would be in hell. whe n you go to be and have wet dreams it's exactly the same as masturbaing except your asleep so whether you masturbate while your awake or not it's going to happen.masturbating doesn't make you a loser it makes you normal.

Masturbation is a natural function of the human body. Everyone does it and those few who don't are miserable and feel unhealthy. If your worried about what the Christian Bible says about masturbation then just remember that that same Bible also tells parents they are allowed to kill children if they are disobedient - check out Deut. 21:18-21. I'm not saying the Bible is bad, just shouldn't be taken literally.

dude, get over it. Masturbation is normal and healthy. Pretty well all guys do it and the frequency varies from a couple or three times a week to several times a day depending on the guy and how horny he is.
Sure it is messy and leaves you feeling 'drained' but you are not doing anything unlawful or sinful; you are merely responding to the needs of your body just liek you do when you drink or pee or eat or ...
So, find out what frequency keeps you and your penis happy and do it knowing that the 10 commandments and the teachings of jesus are silent on the subject, you are reducing yoru risk of prostate cancer, you are getting experience with your own sexual responses, you ar enot gettign anyone pregnant, you ar enot getting and STD and it just plain feels great.

The first thing you need to realize is that no matter how hard you look, you will find nothing in the Bible about masterbation. The most commonly used passage against it is really about disobediance, not masterbation. So just relax and enjoy it.

I think that 99.9999999% of us have visted the "Palm Sisters" at some point in our lives - at least we live in a time when a person can admit that they "choke the chicken" without being told that we are going to go blind...
Or burn in hell..........Whoops!
Well... I guess there are STILL some "fundies" out there who still think it's the 1950's - and that hair will grow on your palms from "spanking the monkey" ;););););)

masturbation is entirely natural, there is nothing to be asamed of. you will not grow hair on your palm, you will not go blind, nor will you go to hell. there are all sorts of rediculous rumors, but really it's just a natural tendency of primates. (many monkeys and apes do it too)

Masturbation is considered adultery to Christians, that's why it's a sin. But, it's built into humans, and there's nothing wrong with it.
