I was ten days overdue with my son when I began to do nipple stimulation. I apologize for my graphic description, but I think it is necessary. Take some sort of lubricant such as vaseline or KY Jelly and put it on your nipples. Gently rub your nipples for several minutes at a time. You will most likely begin to feel braxton hicks contractions as you are doing it. Do this for ten minutes and then give your body a break for ten or so minutes and do it again. Do this five times a day until you go into labor. This is what I was told to do by my midwife and it worked. I started having contractions and my son was born the next day.

I tried walking, sex, squats, jumping jacks, bumpy car rides...so many things I can't remember them all! Either way, none of them worked.
Your baby will come when he/she's ready. No need to rush it - enjoy your last days of pregnancy while you can. I know it sounds crazy, but I (and a lot of women I've talked to) miss being pregnant! Get plenty of rest while the opportunity is still there.
Now, I'm not sure if this is coincidence or what, but I've heard that a woman not feeling ready can delay labor. I was ready, but my boyfriend certainly wasn't. I went into labor an hour after he said "Now would be a good time to go into labor". I had also heard having a pillow under your belly can help set it off, and I did have a pillow there that night...but again, it's probably just coincidence.

The most successful way to bring on labor is to have sex, unprotected. It is the sperm that can thin the cervix and bring on contractions. This is what worked for me and was told to me by my dr and nurse. The pill that they put on your cervix in the hospital, to induce labor, actually contains some of the same ingredients as sperm. Not actual ingredients, but you know what I mean. You can also walk. Mostly though, just relax. It will come when you least expect it!! GOOD LUCK!

I've heard of some crazy things that supposedly worked. One was to go for a long walk, they even have you do that at the hospital to bring on labour. Also, I've heard that getting pedicures can start it. I think the strong circulation of blood.

Walk, have sex, or have your significant other give you a foot massage. There are nerves in your feet that induce labor. I don't know when you are due, but you want to make sure that your atleast to your 36th week and consult with your physician before trying any method. Good Luck.

Having sex worked for me, but I think it only works if you are very nearly there anyway. It could bring it forward by no more than a couple of days, I would imagine.

Ok even the midwives told me this. Sex and plenty of it. It worked for 4 of my 5 pregnancies. Walking does help but when you are so uncomfortable it is hard and so is the sex but at least you can lay down for it. Good luck.

I tried walking, eating a vidalia onion and Castor oil. Nothing worked. I wound up having a c-section.

I had lots of sex. It worked for my first two, but not my third. I was already dialated though, and that may have had something to do with it. My daughter ended up being a c-section because she was breech, so I had all that sex for nothing while trying to get her out!!!
