I don't chose a certain presidents, and agree with everything they say. I might like something a republican says, and might like what a democrat says. Only stupid people choose and believes in everything one person says and does. Why don’t we have a congress just come with ideas if we should go to war, foreign exchange, economy, ect....and the people vote for it. We would have to work on the idea a little more, but do you get what I’m trying to say?

why vote in one person that we might not believe in half the they say. it’s like trying to order a burger, and having to have the combo with it when you don’t want the fries and soda

Because that is what was tried with the first US government and it was a dismal failure. The Continental Congress couldn't even agree on how to feed the troops so General Washington was appointed dictator (for eight months) so he could get supplies for the army.

It is more effective to make a decision with one president.

In real life, every matter has multiple solution and approaches. Then, there must be one solution being launched. If everything need everyone to do a universal suffrage, then there is too slow to response.

Normally, a president would have his carbinet who would collect people's opinions and understand people's demand. Then, multiple solution can be form to the suggestion. Then, Mr/Ms. Persident would do his/her selection , even an out-of-box mixing or creation. This is true in many corporation.

Nevertheless, a country is more than a corporation. The drawback is in minority. How large of minority it is. If Majority is 80%, only 20% is minority; but if 51% is the majority, 49% is minority. That may cause chaos or even revolution.

One of the main duties of the President is to be Commander in Cheif of the armed forces. The military needs to react quickly at times. We would be overun by the enemy by the time a congressional commitee decided to take action.
