A double spaced one page essay is going to be about 3 paragraphs. You really should go with single space, so you can say as much about yourself as possible.

So it is for an application. Your essay is your chance to sell your self to the college, as well as show them your writing skills. The more you write, the better. Therefore, the best way to say as much as possible about yourself is to use single spacing.

A college essay is usually double spaced... but I don't know about one page. Is there anyway you could email the instructor and ask them?? That is the best way to go because every instructor is different.

Ask the instructor exactly what he/she is looking for and this way, you won't be disappointed in your grade because of excessive or lack of sufficient wording.
