y = log[base 5] (x+2)

Switch x and y to get the inverse function:
x = log[base 5] (y + 2)

But you need to solve in terms of y. Raise both sides upon the power 5 to get rid of the log[base 5]
5^x = (y + 2)

Then subtract 2 from both sides:
5^x - 2 = y
y = 5^x - 2

The inverse function is 5^x - 2
