I hate when people leave it at the side of the lot. Walk 10 more steps, save a car from getting scratched, and put your cart away.
I have to admit, once I was in a hurry and did not put it away. I always try to though! Can you imagine people's cars if no one put away their cart!!!?

You should at least put it back in the cart corral if you don't take it back in the store. Leaving it strewn in the middle of the parking lot is completely inconsiderate because that's an easy way for somebody's car to get scratched or dented. Also, you are just making the cart collectors' jobs harder than it needs to be. They already have to go out in all kinds of weather conditions to get the carts from the coralls, which takes a few minutes. But then if they have to run all over the parking lot collecting them, that's just even longer that they have to be out there.

If I don't have my kids with me or the cart thing is real close by I will put it away. I will not leave my kids in the car alone to put a cart back and I'm not tracking them thru the parking lot more then needed people drive like morons I don't find it safe.
I do put the front wheels up on the curb so it doesn't roll away.

there have been a pair situations I easily have discovered walking as much as the checkout that I forgot my wallet. What I regularly do is push the cart over next to the customer provider table, tell them that I forgot my wallet and could return in approximately ten minutes. that's how long it takes me to get to the domicile and returned. And once I come back my cart is there and all I gotta do is make it by checkout. I easily have in no way left a cart sitting crammed with nutrition and merely left it there nevertheless.

Usually we bring the cart out to the car at the grocery store cos we've got a lot of stuff, but we def put in the the cart corral thingy.
I work in retail and I can't tell you how many times people will leave their carts near the other ones, but not put them away, so they crowd the doorway. oh, well.

Not only do I put my cart back in a reserved spot.
When I am going in I will take a cart with me or if my family is with me, I will encourage them to do likewise.
Small price to pay to help others..

YES... I've even gone out of my way to put stray carts back if they are likely to hit someones car.. It's NOT that difficult to do.. I've even brought them back into the store in some cases.. (where they had no parking lot areas set aside for them)
