Ok, I alwas have a hard time writing long papers because I think of topice as simple levels and need tips on how to approach my topic and really break it up.

I am writing about Britain, France, and Russias involvement in the Greek split from the Ottoman Empire. More specifically, these 3 great powes had strategic interest that were detached from the central aims of the war and I want to explain how this fact influenced the happenings of the war. I planned on addressing various categories like military action, political decisions, civilian life and meet the page requirement. My professor is concerned that in addressing these categories will not allow for a comprehensive argument in JUST 20 pages. This is not a thesis, just a paper for a class.

I am looking for tips on improving my thought process. I am not looking for someone to help write my outline.

LOL, I posted this question under another category and someone thought I was looking for ideas for THIS paper instead of doing my own homework. I do want help IN GENERAL, about brainstorming (which may involve thinking through outlines).

First, pose a question. If your professor wanted a report on the topic he would read the encyclopedia. make your question have 2 different sides. I'm not real sure where you want to go with your paper, but you might pose a thought like... Did Britain, France, and Russia have alterior motives with uring Grrece to split from the Ottoman Empire? You don't really have to write the question in your intr, but if you concentrate on answering this question, you wont get side tracked and your paper will have a focus.

You then need to answer the question in an organized manner. If you were going to site examples of how Britian, France, etc. were looking out for their best interest vs. the interest of everyone involved you could either do it country by country or theme by theme; for example, you could have a section where you talk about britain.. and cite how the military behaved, politicians acted, and civilians were involved... OR you could clump all the military actions of each country together.. all the civilians actions together, etc. For this project it would probably be easier to go country by country because the military and political decisions are often intertwined.

For are projects.. especially large ones.. an outline will really help. You won't find yourself sitting in front of a blank screen wondering what to type. It might look something like this
I. Intro--- Your question.. ex. Britain, etc. had alterior motives.
II. Britain
A. Military actions that PROVE Britain had alterior motives.
B. Political decisions that PROVE Britain had alterior motives.
C. Civilian actions that prove Britain had an alterior motive.
III. France
A. Military actions that prove...
B. Political decisons that prove..

you get the point. I think you have plenty of info to get your 20 pages. if you find yourself coming up short, put more analysis into it.. for example.. in each country's section you could put something in there about why they really needed Greek to split.. what did they have to gain.. etc.

20 pages? it is plenty! So permit's see. My suitable papers got here up from those subjects: - Your existence (so a great way) -Your pets - a narrative approximately 3 acquaintances and the means of friendship - an afternoon interior the existence of a paperclip (i in my opinion did this and have been given extra credit for creativity) -Going to a place you have in no way been (with out understanding the lanuage or the thank you to get around) - Your maximum recent dream (you may could strengthen this slightly) - a narrative of your brother/sister taking your cell telephone (or some thing it somewhat is significant to you) for an entire week (you may seize him/her; and in case you haven't any longer have been given a bro/sis, then fake you have one) i'm hoping those are enought to %. from in case you want extra, basically bypass to my profile and that i will digital mail you extra ASAP! i'm hoping you hit upon your subject remember, write your internet site superbly, and get an A++!

OK this is very basic but it sure helps me when i write, I get an 8x11' piece of paper, in the middle I put the subject. then I draw like spokes out and on each spoke I put something I can talk about, which is about the subject, then I add side lines to the spokes and add details under the various categories, This is kind of like "self brain storming" I often use an online thesaurus to put in some word and it gives tons of words which often gets my mind running into other areas and before you know it, I have tons. Another way is to write your basic paper and then read it to someone and have them ask question as you read, they interrupt you and ask and then it further stimulates ideas ? hope this helps.
