How many will be eating rations in the sand with explosions surrounding them instead of spending an enjoyable day with family and friends and homemade cooking?

Isn't it time to bring them home?

I am proud of our military.

To some of the sarcastic answerers - you have no idea how the military has affected my family or how they have served. False accusations seem to stem naturally from some people.

The point is that we went to war in a country for something that doesn't exist - and we remain for ... ?

If we are so concerned about building a nation, why are we blowing it up? If we are so concerned about making it better around the world, why aren't we helping the starving and sick in Africa and other impoverished areas?

What makes the middle east more important that the rest of the world and why was this particular area picked to build bases in?

What are we doing to help Bangledash after the cyclone hit? Over 2000 people lost their lives in one day.

It is one thing to go to war when attacked. It is quite another to spread stories from false witnesses to mislead most people in the US into a war that never should have begun.

Trust me I know how it has affected you! You are not alone in your sorrow...But you need to be pro-active and start doing some research! This war is killing our military systematically...while the global elite are building private armies- and taking away the protection of the poor and middle class! Look up HR 1955...implanted ID chips...385 million no-bid contracts for KBR...2.5 trillion tax payer dollars for Blackwater!

Well this is going to sound heartless but...having been in Iraq for 3 Christmas's I can tell you that on Christmas day I was able to get a hot meal (not an MRE) and at least celebrate a little. Explosions are not always going on and the food is actually better than it was at my station in the states. I'm not saying it's better than being home but it's not always as bad as some people think it is. Plus we get about 1 million metric tons of boxes from people all around the states at christmas time so there is definitely no lack of presents.

I did not make it home for Christmas during war time (first gulf war) or during peace time.

Just part of the job. Even if they were not in war, they could not go home.

I'd appreciate it if you'd quit pretending to care about my family members serving in Iraq. They deserve more than to be used for your pointless anti-war rhetoric. Thank you.

They're not home so you can be.

Do you care about the 711 worker who works on Christmas day? No political agenda attached to that one.

Military men and women do not sign up with the expectation to spend enjoyable days with family and friends and homemade cooking. They sign up to defend the nation and so that you can spend enjoyable days with family and friends.
Thank them but do not treat them like some delicate creatures because in doing so you insult them.
