I facing problem when setup wireless router which the model (Linksys
wireless-G(802.11g).In web based configuration ,my internet account type is PPOE and
i would like to know in starting ip address section i need to enter from
which number , its possible make my starting ip address 192.168.1.2.

the account tyoe is PPPOE NOT PPOE

agree with colinc, if you are using proper (legal) protocols it should hook up right away.

Explain, the address you are quoting is a local private address, nothing to do with the internet. If you are referring to the dhcp pool, you should start by using the default addresses, never change anything like this until you have a working system.

be sure your pc is making use of dhcp then merely plug your laptop in and notice if it gets an IP handle. pass initiate -> run -> cmd -> ipconfig. learn the gateway handle and then use that. If it does not get an handle, seek for a reset button on the router and press it in. which will set it returned to production facility and turn on dhcp.

If you mean the starting IP address in the "DHCP range", then yes, you can make it 192.168.1.2

You can also make it 192.168.1.1, because the router will already know that it is " .1 ", and won't try to assign it .

Either way should work

To access the Router Utility 192.168.1.1
Then you can make any changes at this time to select
WEP-WPA-WPA-2, wireless security settings.
As well as all of the other confiqurations you may choose.
