I don't understand it. I'm against Abortion for the same reason I'm against War and Poverty: I value Human Life and dignity. Sure, Birth Control and Condoms are fine, but I don't believe it's right to take a life, weather or not it's in the Womb.

Well said, but I wonder what percentage of us are "Pro-choice"? The righties assume we all support abortion. They are so smart, it must be so. It is part of their assumed "identity of the enemy". To me abortion is another form of the death penalty and I would only use that measure in extreme cases; just like abortion. On a personal note, I have seven kids so obviously my wife and I never saw that as an option, never even a consideration. And I am proud to say that they are all healthy and happy liberals who also wouldn't consider abortion.

I am also a liberal against abortion, but I do understand why people favor pro-choice. I know I can't set standards for others, but it's a personal choice and should be respected.

I am not against abortion but i am for the right to privacy and a woman's right to choose what is right for her body. i would feel better if the house of reps. and congress were full of women who made the decision to outlaw abortion than a big crowd of men (who can never bare a child or know what it's like to bare a child) decide what a woman can do with her body. everyone is screaming against abortions but they're not the ones who have to take care of that baby or deal with the all the problems

One of the choices in being pro choice is choosing life.

There is plenty of Pro life people that .... believe in the death penalty and support the occupation of Iraq.

Have you ever heard of a pro choice person blowing up an abortion clinic or killing abortion doctors?????

Good question -

And on the other side of the coin, why are Conservatives pro-life? Isn't part of Conservatism the idea of laissez-faire? The idea that government should be limited and stay out of people's affairs? And yet, they want government to be involved in this most personal of decisions.

I agree with pro-choice, and I do NOT believe in abortion. Now why is that?

Simple. God gave us free will. He allowed us to make choices in life. He did it because he wants us to worship him freely. I cannot, nor should I, control what someone else what's to do with her body. Believe me, if what they did is wrong, then God will take care of it. Let God handle judgment, not us.

That's your choice.

I also also believe in the right to privacy and have control over my body.

JJ, why don't you open your email so we could discuss this like adults?

LIberals are not really pro choice, as they bash those that choose life. they are simply pro abortion, nothing more. They argue that it is their body, and have a right to privacy, however, the babies body rarely is mentioned. I guess they own that too.
