There are wars over it as seen in the middle eastern countries, and conflicts within America because we will exile anyone who is not a Jesus lover. I was raised Catholic, but do not understand how something that is supposed to be good is rlly hypocritical and makes sectionalism.

Who needs it? Many. And where is this exile? I don't see that much cooperation coming from your likes. Painting with one broad stroke every person who believes in something other than themselves. Really, if you had to depend on the politics of man to get world peace... forget it. Is it OK for people to believe a little different than you? Or shall we exile them?

There is absolutely no point to any religion at all. Man is the only animal that conjours up such stupid nonsense. Think what a beautiful planet this would be with all it's got if man was not on it. The mountains, the streams, the plants, the other animals, the blue skies etc etc but no humans destroying and polluting for his own gain. Man created religions as he created god in his own image and it is purely there to control other people. Religion is divisive and has been responsible for more wars , deaths, torture than anything ever. Any strong intelligent person sees it for what it is. I'm typing this in UK, I guess you are from USA, next time you see people in your country calling themselves "Christians" i.e -followers of Christ, see the hatred in their eyes when they rant & scream about gay people. These re people who say it's OK to pick up a gun in the name of God & country and blow another person's brains out, but if you dare LOVE someone of the same gender as you, you're gonna burn. Any clearer?

I'm gonna geek out on you here and paraphrase the scene in The Matrix where Morpheus is describing what the Matrix is, because it works pretty well for describing religion too.

"Let me tell you why you're here. You're here because you know something. What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to me. Do you know what I'm talking about?

[Religion] is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth...that you are a slave...Like everyone else you were born into bondage. Into a prison that you cannot taste or see or touch. A prison for your mind."

1. Wars often use religion as an excuse, but there are other causes. (e.g. Northern Ireland was more about British control and policy rather than religion).

2. Who exactly was exiled from America for being a non-Christian?

It's a guess, based on events in this life, about what will happen in the next. I believe that if I live a good life (don't steal, kill, lie, etc) I'll receive some kind of reward for it after I die. I was also raised Catholic, and I get what you're saying.

I am a Christian and i know wat ur talking about. Ever since Adam and Eve sinned and brought sin to the world... God has made lions eat lambs and countries fight countries. Before sin... there was no evil (the lion and the lamb thing is that there were no carnivores before sin and if u read the bible ud know wat i was talkin about)..... There is a god and our world is stubborn not to figure it out.

Think about it... it takes more faith to believe in NOTHING exploded into EVERYTHING than it is to believe in an eternal maker like god himself. Im just saying that there is a god and u cant deny that.

Since God is real, it doesnt mean that the world should be perfect... did he or did he not give earth to satan before the SECOND coming (which hasnt happend yet) then take it back from Anti-christ? If ur confused then study revelation or talk with a priest...

Religion gives many people peace of mind. Besides, if humans didn't kill each other over religious issues, they would merely find another excuse.

Religion is a personal choice...it should have nothing to do with politics or the government.

Religion is used by parents to 'keep their children in line.' They are worried they will go off on a criminal tangent i suppose.

religion doesn't "bend"... God isn't wrong...

so what happens when you're in a religious nation and the nation that neighbors your is a different religion... and your Gods are saying two different things... it gets touchy... especially if one of the Gods promises someone elses land to a religion...
