you could put what stuff they like. Like lotion, body spray, chocholate, perfume or stuff like that. You can also make a candy basket and put candy stuff in there. You can also give them gift cards to somewhere they like!!

For the movie theme you could get a movie that your friend likes, some packs of popcorn, a giftcard for the movies, or a giftcard for a movie store.

For the spa theme, you could fill the basket with lotions, body wash, or a mani/pedi set, and maybe a scented candle.

You could also do a candy theme. Put various candies and sweets and maybe some chocolate covered pretzles.

And maybe make a make-up/jewlery basket, with bracclets, lipgloss, a necklace, a pair of earrings, etc.

The theme should be 'home made'. Bake some cookies, make some stationery, put in a natural soap, and a small plant. An inexpenisve, creative, and thoughtful gift- if you are a cook, maybe a ticket to come over for dinner...
I have no clue what age you are but think that any age can appreciate something made over something bought...and if you did buy, stick to natural and hand made stuff. Hope this helps!

We did this for my sisters bridal shower (I mean give baskets out as door prizes). But some of the themes were books/magazines, spa, movie night, breakfst in bed, gardening, chocolate lovers, and a scrapbooking one. I did the breakfast one and put in panckae mix, syrup, coffee, teas, a coffee mug, a couple of cloth napkins, and a small bud flower vase. Sounds like you're having fun with this! Good Luck!

The movie idea is really cool. you could also do bath and body works and do a certian scent theme. For example you could get all sweat pea stuff and get a bath sponge or something. You could also do a victoria secrets theme (my fav store haha) get them a pair of cute underwear some lotion and a little perfume or lip gloss. Also bath and body works has a really cute line called "Goldie" that you could get some cute stuff from!

good luck
merry christmas

If you already know who you are going to make the basket for (as opposed to a round-robin or santa exchange), then tailor the basket for the person's likes and dislikes.

What would I do? I would go with exotic foods, coffees and flavors. I would get some hard to find spices, and put them in a basket with things like oven mitts, a coffee mug, and other minor, yet cool cooking things.

If participating in a round-robin, I would do the same, yet not tailored for anybody's specific tastes or needs. For example, if you knew the gifted person was allergic to certain foods, then I would not put those in. Yet, in a Santa-exchange, they could be included.

For a good gift selection, try somewhere like a Williams Sonoma or other gourmet kitchen supply store for your goodies.

Guys: Barbeque sauces, cajun seasoning, blackening spices, and spicy rubs.

Girls: Various seasonings, cajun seasonings, spices, smell goods for the kitchen, coffee mugs, chocolates.

Do a winter wonderland theme. Get a basket and glue some white furry yarn around it. Put a scarf, mittens, some hot sunglasses to match, lip balm(to protect against icy winds), hot cocoa mix, and a cute mug. Hope this helps!

Do like a hollywood theme

This is what you should put in it:

a good movie
a curling iron
popcorn
big sunglasses
makeup [like red lipstick, mascara, and nail polish]
and go to a store and find a sequined shirt
[and since it's getting cold all the sequined tanktops are on sale]
or a dress would be cute!

Spa Theme---put little wash clothes, or towels, candles, lotions, loufas, bath beads

DVD----Favorite Movie, popcorn, popcorn bowl, junior mints, runts, whatever you like to eat at the movies, maybe a gift card to a local theatre.

Wrap them up in clear celaphane with lots of frilly ribbons and bows.

Relaxing theme
Pajamas, aromatherapy stuff, slippers, one of those eye masks things, cozy blanket...

Party theme
Margarita mix, alcohol, Rim salt, some limes, glasses, maybe a blender. Swizzle sticks maybe some of those paper umbrella things.

If you are doing one for all your friends, just a small gift i'd probably do things like lip gloss, lip balm, body glitter, lotion, one of those bath fizz things, funky socks, a grooming set (nail clippers, tweezers, etc.), Candy. Maybe you could do each girl in a different color.

As for decorating them. I'd get a basket and some of that paper grass stuff. Then wrap in cellophane and tie with a ribbon.
