Check your volume setting to see whether it is mute or not. Do you ever turn off your speaker before? If yes, look at the manual come with your computer to see how to turn the speaker on, or contact your manufacturer and ask them how to do it.
Your computer manufacturer should already uploaded the sound driver for your computer to their website. Try download it from their website and install it.
Or, If you know the manufacturer of your sound card and know your sound card model, go to the sound card's manufacturer's website to download the latest driver and install it.
If the above solution does not work, then the only things you can do is to recover your computer using the System Recovery CD came with your computer and install the driver from the CD if it is not installed after system recovery.

He probably deleted or uninstalled the driver for the audio card. You can usually go to the computer manufacturer's website and enter the model of your computer to download and install new drivers. This depends on the manufacturer. You should look on the bottom or back of the computer to find the model number. You need to re-install the audio driver. Then reboot your computer.

If he deleted the driver for sound you will have to re-install the driver. go to my computer and click system information and check for sound driver. If you have your original disk that came with your computer you can try to re-install. Make sure he did not lower the volume manually. My volume button is in the front of my laptop

do you possibly have a picture of a speaker in the bottom toolbar with an X laid over the speaker? if so click on the speaker and a setting should come up that says the speaker is in the mute mode, click on that box to take the mute off.
i know it's a long shot, but who knows.
good luck.
have you tried calling your computer manufacturer?

Find out what kind of audio device or card you have. Get the latest driver software and install it.
If it's a Dell: use the service tag to find the right audio hardware/drivers.

Go into your Recycle Bin. You will be able to find the audio program in there if your brother didn't delete the contents of your Recycle Bin. Once you find the files, highlight them and restore them. If you're brother deleted your Recycle Bin contents, you need to get a new brother.

Get your driver CD that came with your computer (not the CD with your OS). Setup the audio drivers, you should be good in no time.
