it would depend on the person of course...but tried and true gifts often include homemade cookies/candy or something like mittens or a scarf...it all depends on the person to be honest. good luck.

Thats why marketing invented gift cards.
Seriously do you not know any of this person's interests? Just buy them something based on an interest they have. Video game, jewelry, clothing store gift card.
If you are related call and ask someone else what they are getting that person. Then get something that compliments that gift. Say your aunt gets that person an i-pod. You could get that person some accessories to go with it or an i-tunes gift card.

before you buy a gift, you should know first what kind of gift does this person want,..
there's a lot of people, even you get tired of making gift, they don't think about it, especially if it is kid,..
just find a beautiful cover for your gift, so at the first sight, it look like already a beautiful content of the gift,..
of course if you gave a gift to a kid, they will look for a toy,.
if it is teen ager they will look for, jewelries,..
if it is gf, they will look for stuff toys, chocolate and also a jewelry,
if it is bf, they look for a shoes, clothes, and also jewelry,..
if it is your mom or your dad, they will look for a dress.
